PLC Planning Assignment

  Personal Mission Statement

Currently I have qualities of creativity, logic, and motivation. I'm in an earlier stage of my life, so I'm young and have fresh ideas. I'm in the process of learning and growing, both in academics and in my own personal life.  My purpose is to create things, having an idea and working consistently to see it come to life is what i am passionate about. Whether it is side hustles, art projects or schoolwork I try my best to produce quality things that hold value in my life. I'm passionate about economics and philosophy, and am a big believer in "the more you learn, the less you know" so I enjoy learning and being challenged. I do not believe I am in a career position that uses my full potential yet, but once I find the correct fit I can apply my values of being an intrapreneur, as well as a leader to help others.

 Personal Vision Statement

In the future I will utilize my positive qualities and learning experience to create a business or project that outlasts me in impact and time. I hope to make something that can change the world for the better, even if on a small scale. I hope I can leave behind a business that I am proud of and which is important to others as well. 10 years from now I hope to have gained work experience and knowledge from a career in sales or marketing. I will then use my skills I've learned at Red River College to begin a business venture of my own, most likely in the industry of reselling or trading goods. I hope to be beginning my entrepreneurial journey by 2034, as I will need time to gain experience to set myself up for success.

 SMART Goals

Short Term- By May I want to have a job secured for graduation so that I can get started in the business work field. Specifically something in sales or marketing development for small businesses, something like an assistant job to a pro will be the goal.  I can measure this by whether or not I actually gain this second job or not. This is achievable because I have started looking around and networking online to apply to existing advertisements. This is realistic because I know i will be needing to keep busy once out of school, and I can handle a day job as well as occasional evening work from my existing job. I hope to have this completed by the latest May 30th, giving me a month to work out details.

Mid Term- By January 2025 I want to have my side hustle of selling vintage clothes online to have grown to include hand made items, and operating on its own website. It also should continue making consistent income of around $2,000 per month. This is measurable as I can track my income by month in the PayPal app, I will also have a domain registered to my business online and running. This is achievable because i already have good momentum growing on my shop which now operates on the app Depop, and consistency will keep it growing. I can easily set aside 1 hour each weekday dedicated to posting listings, and packaging items. I can also easily spend 3 hours per weekend taking photos of items. This is realistic because while I could set up the website and start hand making clothes overnight, that might not be sustainable as I'm not used to it. It will be smart to slowly introduce hand made items on my existing Depop, pricing them low to test out what works and what doesn't. Then I can move it to a website of it's own once i get positive feedback or reviews. I think this will take about a year of consistency, while balancing other jobs, so January 2024 is my end date for this goal.

Long Term- By December 2032 I hope to own my own apartment residence here in the exchange district. something in the price range of 200,000-300,000, By this time I hope to be well into paying off a mortgage, about 50% finished. This is measurable because it's numbers, I can set up a payment plan that contributes a higher amount or in shorter intervals in order to get it paid off faster. This is achievable because by this point I will have saved A good amount of money in a first time home savers account which I already contribute to. This is realistic because 8 years gives a good amount of room to grow my career and with that, my income. I can budget myself well and plan out where I will allocate my earnings to live a balanced life. This is time measured by nine years, I think this is a reasonable time.
